When I read this book, I was always wondering what was gonna happen next. So if you want to read this book for a long time, I don't recommend this book. But if you just want a good read that you can enjoy, and even your kids enjoy, then I would recommend this book. With all the action in this book, it is anything but boring. I would recommend this book for anyone in middle school or higher. I haven't read any of the books later in the series but I am excited to continue this series and see how this whole story unfolds in later books. Now what I learned about myself in this book, is that relying on your friends is important. Especially in this novel, characters were relying on each other heavily, and I found this to be important in the real world too. Also in this book, characters tended to put their lives in harm's way before risking someone else's life, so the characters in this book are very gracious about their friends. What another person could get out of this is that no matter what happens, everything will turn out how it should. In the novel, there were many horrific situations that each character had to face, and every time they faced it, they came out of it. Lots of life lessons come out of this novel, like having the person right next to you's back, being selfless, and helping the person fighting right next to you, instead of trying to do things your own way, and just try to save yourself. In all, reading this book will give you an insight on what the word "teamwork" means. It shows you that when you have someone's back and help them when they need it, they will go out of their way to help you when you are in a bad situation, and need an extra hand to defeat whatever challenge you are faced with.
